The Barbican music team and Create are doing all sorts of interesting work outside the venue itself, collaborating with councils, community groups, schools and local artists to galvanise and inspire the rich seams of creative potential in east London.

In July 2015 I worked with Barbican producer, Rachel Smith, on the Barking Town Square Street Party, project managing and event managing the event's varied strands.

The Barbican programmed a small stage with some juicy bands like The Turbans and Afrik Bawantu, Studio 3 Arts hosted a second stage in marvellously off-the-wall style that featured a bounty of local talent, and around the square various delightful workshops and oddball street performers kept the crowds entertained.
